Mega-Millions or Lottery by Ineternet and Debit Card

Could you imagine how much money would be wasted if the Mega-millions or Powerball or any other lottery allowed participants to purchase tickets by debit card or even credit card ON LINE?
Yes, I know it is an age restricted purchase, but I know that I can buy a case of whiskey on online with my credit card so I see no difference.
