Pretty much what I said.
I agree it is likely a BS trip. Seems that most is covered by a private entitiy. The staffer we are paying $3.5k for seems excessive, but other than that it appears less than $2k plus whatever she hides on her credit card.

Folgers market share has been shrinking due to international trade from African growers. The price point is better than South American companies. Plus the whole cartel situation. It is much like local craft Brewers have dented some of the Budweiser market share. Are you anti-capitalism?

So I’m sure Folgers is paying for her trip to Africa to buy more beans

Actually Esscense is (or the company that owns them). Since they are putting on the economic development event.

So has nothing to do with economic development nor does it have to do with promoting the city.
If it did the whole city council and delegation would have attended.
The city only paid for the flights to New York, allegedly

Well, to be fair they probably never had Confederate statues in Ghana.
Statues only been down a few years in New Orleans. Give it some time. We'll catch up.

Did you even read about why she is going there or just start jumping to conclusions?
I'm asking this because it is all spelled out. The questions you are asking all have answers in the media. About the economic development, why the sister city, why Essence is doing this, how much it costs...
I'm not telling you to be for it, it just seems like you are wanting to justify why you are livid about it.

It is a black people international economic forum. Kinda like the bilderberg group is a bunch of white people and Jewish people. Ghana is the 4th fastest growing economy in Africa. The other 3 are trading with Europe. If we give Ghana access to US markets that would make them the fastest growing and provide us the chance to stabilize the region and bring back capitalism.
World domination is the ultimate goal of all empires. We are preserving our way of life and helping others. That is what capitalism is about.

There are plenty of times to call Cantrell out, I'm not sure this is the strongest case for doing so. ~$5k to represent NOLA on somewhat of a world stage. Cantrell wouldn't be my first pick to represent the city, but it is the bulldog we have to enter in the competition.
Her being there might convince whatever this black economic forum is to hold their event in NOLA. Always good for outside money spending on a conference in NOLA.

Yep. She’s going visit a hospital and nursing home and is going to speak about slavery that started 400 years ago.
Solid economic boost.
I know you’re smarter than to listen to Super Saint. I’m not going to air his dirty laundry but I wouldn’t give much merit to his opinions.
