What's the benefit of import/export for the City of New Orleans?
C'mon man.
C'mon man.

Probably a good thing to get her stupid arse out of the city where she can’t do any harm.
Last time she went across the pond Hard Rock collapsed.

Ah the weekly thread where white people bitch about blacks spending their money but are powerless to change it.
And only a liberal would not have an issue with wasted taxpayer money.

What the frick is Latoya Cantrell going to Ghana going to do to help the import/export trade in New Orleans?
You can’t be this fricking stupid
If that was the reason for the trip then the director of the port and several business people would have gone
But again, that’s not her job.
Here you are again, just to start an argument with me for no reason and you can’t back anything up.

Whatever retard.
Part of her job is economic development. I agree that going to Ghana seems pointless. Doesn't mean part of her job isn't economic development.

I just read that BR's sister cities are Cairo, Egypt and Port au Prince Haiti. I've lived here for 40 years and never knew that. Latoya is tackling the difficult tasks. Screw cracking down on crime, paving roads or improving schools. We've got to focus on important shite like this
Fighting Tigers is going to question you on your opinion.
Why wouldn’t Baton Rouge want to improve trade relations between them and Haiti, Cario and Egypt. Baton Rouge has so much to offer and vice versa

So whats the benefits?
Keep defending her.
I want to here you justify this trip and and the same time tell us how we benefitted from the Cuba trip.
We’re listening.

I never said there was a benefit.
I actually said she is probably incapable of doing anything.

You said it wasn't part of her job to boost the economy or build relationships with other economies.
I disagreed. You turned it into an argument instead of a conversation. Discussions don't have to turn heated just because someone points out you are wrong.

That import/export is an important part of this city that we have been losing over the last few decades.
The tone was simply that I know you know that.

True. All that Ghana trade is being lost to Houston and she’s going to change that by giving a speech and visiting a hospital

Being a sister city is symbolic at best. It doesn't do shite for the local economy. Who are your home town's sister cities? I'd bet not one person on here could name them without looking it up.

Are you going to explain to us what the import/export benefits Latoya brings to the city of New Orleans by visiting Cuba and Ghana, when she has absolutely no control over trade policies that the US government sets.
You explain

How is becoming a sister city or whatever, visiting a hospital and a nursing home and giving a speech about slavery 400 years ago boosting the economy of New Orleans?
We have 12 million visitors a year, we’re doing pretty good
We don’t need a few poors from Ghana to come leach off the city.

promote tourism and encourage foreign companies to do business in New Orleans.
Posted on 12/29/19 at 9:18 pm to tgrbaitn08
Probably won't.
Doesn't mean it isn't her job.

All of those Ghana multinationals will now be setting up a regional office in the CBD
