Meh. That guy's a rank amateur, very, very sloppy technique. I was sort of hoping he'd get bit.

I remember watching this video in junior high. Took a while with the old 56K modem. Also kept getting interrupted when my Mom wanted to make a phone call.

Snakes typically live in confined places in nature and don't move around a lot. It may not be completely ideal, but that is a decent reproduction of their natural environment and pretty standard for captivity.
That is certainly standard practice for breeders, but it still irritates the hell out of me. At least my babies have some vines to play on, a waterfall to chill in, etc.

That's much better but they need a natural habitat not an artificial one.

that snake thinks about 1 thing...should I use what little energy i have to strike and get the food I have come upon and live a little longer.
in nature he would think of only 3 other things
should I flee
should i strike my opponent
should i mate with this female
how he gets to any of those decisions is irrelevant

Just curious...do you own a dog or any kind of pet? I take it you're completely against pet ownership. Are you a PETA member?
I'd argue that my snakes have everything they need or want. They are captive bred so they don't know any other life style that they would "miss." They have an environment with a proper temperature gradient (from mid 70s to high 80s/low90s). They can bask when they need to bask, They can hide when they want to hide. They can climb when they want to climb. They are provided with proper humidity levels. They are provided with an ample supply of food. The fact that they eat regularly demonstrates that they are not stressed. They exhibit all behaviors they would in the wild - basking, hiding, stalking, etc. When snakes are stressed, they'll let you know it. They don't eat because they "have to" - if they are stressed they have no issue with starving themselves to death.

It's a nice set up, but damn I'm not into snakes at all and would think you were strange having a snake exhibit in your house.

Nice setup. You have the green tree pythons, right?
And yes he owns a dog.

Thanks. Right now I've got the following:
Green Tree Python
Jungle Jaguar Carpet Python
Zebra Jungle Carpet Python
Hypomelanistic Brazilian Rainbow Boa
Just finishing a new setup that is a bit taller but a bit narrower than the one I posted. Going to add an Amazon Tree Boa to the collection - probably a red or orange one once I can find a nice specimen.
By the same token, I find it strange that so many people are afraid of snakes and kill them on sight. I grew up catching snakes (since 5 or 6 years old). To each his own.

Do your snakes lick the Worcestershire sauce off the bottom of your feet and give you a chubby like your mutt?

Normal people naturally fear things that can kill them fire, guns, heights, black penis, snakes, etc.
