I would imagine that the most severe cases would be medevaced to Tripler in Hawaii. That Navy Hospital on Guam isn't large enough to handle a CVN mass casualty.

You guys are dumb. The CO didnt just randomly decide to stop at Vietnam. It was a COMREL visit that came from higher up than him.

I was deployed in the Middle East when Katrina hit. They didnt tell us anything about it until 2 weeks later when we stopped in Bahrain.

Port visits are planned a year or more in advance. There were few, that knew about the pandemic. There is little if any internet or the like. The Captain really has little leeway in where he goes. Vietnam is a high priority cultivation for DoD and State.
