Ideally, taking it earlier is better for sure, but it also stops the progression of it. So, it's great to take it at any point where you're diagnosed.

All I have is that my Grandmother had it and now my Father has it. He gets the injections in his eyes and at 81 is doing much better than my Grandmother did 20 years ago. She had the magnifying device so she could keep reading and resigned herself to just listening to TV because the magnifier only worked close up. I guess my turn is coming but I’ve been taking AREDS for 10 years and I never walk outside without sunglasses so maybe I’ll dodge it. It was quire debilitating to my Grandmother initially but she adapted and lived for 15 years with it.
