I had a boxer get lymphoma. When I first found it, it was little hard spots on his neck (obviously his lymph nodes). We were moving at the time, so I waited to take him to the vet. The move ended up stressing him out, as it does all dogs, and accelerated the tumor growth. About a month after the move, the tumors were noticeable by just looking at him. I finally took him to the vet, they said it was end stage and he had about 2 months left. He was fine for another month. One morning, as if it happened overnight, he looked terrible. So we decided it was time. Rough situation to deal with. Prayers sent.

Had to put one of my bullies down this Sunday...poor girl had a tumor near bile duct. She couldn't hold down food, and it seemed so fast as others have said. This whole last week has fricking sucked. We were with her till the very last breath.

Like previously mentioned, it'll likely be a quick progression from normal dog to blind, not eating, not drinking, not moving. Don't let your dog go through that. Spoil him/her, feed it some corndogs from Sonic, then put it to sleep with the family there.
Family dogs deserve a good death.

Lots of information here. It can be treatable, and some dogs respond well to it. But as others have said, don't let your friend suffer. Good luck. LINK

Does anyone have any experience with this condition in their dog? We are going to meet with the Oncologist in a few days to see what stage we are dealing with and what the options are for her.
Yes. I had a boxer that was the best dog Ive ever had that died from lymphoma a few years ago. We noticed a lump under the jawline and brought him in the next day. He deteriorated pretty quickly after the day we brought him in and confirmed that it was lymphoma. It broke my heart to see what was such a strong and happy dog only a month ago wilt away in a matter of wks. He stopped eating and couldnt control his bladder or his bowels. We put him down two weeks after the intial visit, of which he was still moving like normal and had almost no signs of anything being wrong. I still think about him all the time.
Im sorry to hear this for you. Hopefully yours isnt as aggressive as our was and you get more time. It was one of the hardest things Ive ever had to do. I cried like a baby.
