The mechanicals are crap…I just bought a new custom home…missing junction boxes on flood lights, missing bushings on grounds in panel, outlets backstabbed and screws not tightened. GFCI outside had the cover upside down because it was too close to the brick ledge and didn’t fit
Plumbing is just as bad…I changed a shower valve for a neighbor, the plumber must have not had room so he sweated pex adapters directly to the valve and must have not pulled the internals, and it was a glacier bay valve body that they don’t make anymore

You do not, you pay the fee and take the test. There is no journeyman or master in louisiana It is open book
So you can just bypass the educational and apprenticeship requirements for a journeyman by just paying a fee and passing the test?

Technically you should have some schooling, however the electrical contractor license does allow you to perform work and pull permits….i know an hvac guy who installs generators….he went to hvac school…he’s not an electrician he has the electrical contractors license

Ive got a house im working on right now.
In the middle of re doing the electrical, almost finished the plumbing,
Reframed 3 rooms, replaced all insulation, added a master bathroom, all new ac ducting, added smoke detctors and air registers too room s that never had it. Still got a lot left to do.
I was planning on being finished before the new year.
But i royally messed up and made the mistake of getting caught up on other projects. Now im in a bind.
I big bind.

It really depends on the resistance I’ll face
