Sad turtle story. 
When I was in 2nd grade, each kid got a chance to take the "class turtle" home for the weekend to care for it.
Well, somehow the damn thing died on my watch. My mom sent me back to school Monday with the dead turtle in the tank and said to pretend I knew nothing about it. 
Lunch was a veggie burger w/cheese & D. Coke.
When I was in 2nd grade, each kid got a chance to take the "class turtle" home for the weekend to care for it.
