One thing to consider is the fund's beta. Read up on that statistic. It measures volatility against the market (S&P 500).

The greater the deviation from 1.0, the greater the difference in volatility from the market, whether greater or less.

Yes, but I am rolling with Divvy re-inv, so I gather more shares monthly.

I am kicking around doing the same with SDIV. It's a beast.

Holding ETR and SO. SO just had 2 nukes come online. They have to catch up, then should see great growth. Been holding a while so both yielding 8. Buying today yields much worse.

Since the 80's. Would save to buy 100 of whatever, and always gold and silver. Gold has been good. I did buy some stonks. T. Boone Pickens stuff and Canadian pot stocks. I bought those when The Legislative and Executive branches were talking big about making federally legal.
