One of the kids took the money. How is your relationship with them?

Peej, I’m just catching up but I’m so sorry. Please tell me what I can do to help you. Sending a huge hug to you.

I have considerable experience in matters of this sort. In Louisiana, the surviving spouse of an intestate decedent carries the biggest stick. Sounds like some funny business is going on here.

If they were legally married and she didn’t have something set up without his knowledge, at least 50% of the assets should belong to him.

The first thing the bank asked was if she had passed. She then said once they find out that she passed they close the accounts.

My mom passed several years ago. She wasn’t married and had no other kids. She still has open accounts with quite a bit of money in them that I just haven’t got around to working on yet. Whoever you’re talking to at the bank doesn’t know wtf they’re talking about.

yep, my sister died a couple of months ago, she left money in accounts to pay for certain things until her estate is settled

If someone drained the acct it would still show up online when I sign in. It’s just not there anymore.
