followed the crown a bit and i did expect the breeders to be moved but wasn't shocked.

The girls are all in Raleigh for a show that lasts from yesterday till Saturday night.
I'm drawing a blank, was it barbaro that was kept alive and used for breeding for a year and a half or so or was he put down on the track?
For some reason I can remember when ruffian broke down and was put down on the track.

Eh....
The track has some to do with it but the horses have more, IMO. Major horse shortage in California and people were getting bullied by the track to fill races. Horses who weren’t fit or sound were being run.
They need to cut race dates big time. They are having trouble filling cards at Del Mar right now.

Nah. Barbaro never left new Bolton though he lived 8 months before the laminitis was unmanageable. Wouldn’t have been breeding sound because it was a hind leg.
Ruffian actually underwent surgery and died at the clinic. She wasn’t the type to help herself though. That whole story is fascinating in a sad way.
Hope they do well! No more shows for me til KY.
