They put a slightly longer, threaded barrel on some models in order to add a suppressor.

Only person I've known that needed one was a pest control guy that had one on a .22 pistol for killing coons, possums, squirrels, ect in attics and outside residential neighborhoods

I know some guys like to hunt hogs with suppressed ARs. Not sure why you'd put one on a pistol unless you just felt like wasting money....or wanted to make a contract hit.

Used to be stationed at GTMO. Place wad infested with banana rats. We used go out with silenced .22 rifles at night and choot em by the hundreds.
