Why isn't Jay Dardene the only name on the list.
They have to go through the motions.

Where are the candidates currently leading a large university?
Uh. Why would you lateral to LSU knowing how steeped in state politics and football shenniganery it is? Look at how much shite our own BoD talked about the previous guy.
LSU is a stepping stone position that can make or break your career. It is risky. The best fits are going to be people with strong ties to the area and know the political landscape.

Cofounder of Sun yat-sen university... guessing they are pretty staunchly anti-Communist

If it's not Jay, it will 100% be this. However, Jay is a Jew, so, kind of a minority.

Major General Ron Clark Talks about Race, Diversity and Inclusion in the U.S. Army - ....Clark thought that renaming of bases was “a huge step forward,” if you peeled back the “why” of how these bases and buildings were named, and what the names really meant. The push for naming the bases came from the United Daughters of the Confederacy during the 1920, when white supremacy was on the rise. He pointed out that General Robert E. Lee used to be on the recruiting materials for West Point, even though he was the “general that killed more Americans in the history of the world.”
Lee is no longer on those materials. Making those kinds of changes, such as changing base and building names, is how the military can make people of color feel seen, Clark said.

Amar Zerig, B.A.
General Manager
Goldor
A Google search of him and the company pulls up this thread as the result. Did LSU just fricking make up names?

I am really disappointed that Amar Zireg didn't make the cut to eight. I hope it was just an accidental omission.
Ms. Zireg has had an immeasurable impact on Goldor since becoming the General Manager - building on her previous academia experience where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree.
In closing, Ms. Zireg is the leader that LSU deserves and it would be a shame if the University wasted her time unnecessarily (distracting her from her priorities at Goldor) if she was never to be given a fair chance in the interview process!
