Reportedly the theft was of jewelry; the State jewels of the now-defunct French monarchy were on display there

Someone explain to me what these fellas were going to do with these jewels. I don’t think you can just roll into a pawn shop and flip these particular items without raising an eyebrow or two.

Seriously? Just a few months ago, some guys stole the pharaoh’s jewelry from Egypt…and melted it down for scrap.

Reasonable answer. I didn't think of that.

Can't destroy history if it is safe in a museum.

That's why Obummers library looks like a fallout shelter. Their truth will be history.
It also looks like the foundation for a future mosque minaret.

How the hell is this even possible?

The minute anything happens, every exit should immediately shut down?

The French are losers.

They used hand grinders on an upstairs window to break in so they made their own entry and exit.

Our local bank here in BFE has real time video surveillance and motion detectors. If anything moves after hours the alarm goes off. The freakin national museum of France doesn't have them? Not to mention a huge ladder leaning against the side of the building.

It is 2025.

There should have been zero windows without alarms.

There is absolutely zero excuse for this outcome.

The amount of money that place pulls in should afford full coverage of every entrance, exit, and window.

Maybe they should hire Mark Sanchez to guard the place.

There comes a point where no defense will prevail over human audacity.

I was in the press box at Troy once and everyone was discussing the absence of televisions. It turned out someone went up to the suites before the game and stole them all. Who thinks to themselves, I’m going to steal some TVs and then realizes the most secure spot on campus is also the easiest target?

I get that, but this isn’t the Troy stadium suites.

This is the fricking Louvre.

The principle remains the same. There was a recent story where a group stole millions of dollars worth of Pushkin books from historical libraries throughout Europe. They got away with it for years before anyone even caught on.
