DOTD has been non-existent since the tax failed. Reckon why?
quote:i already covered louisiana and taxes.
Yeah, em especially when we heard the news LSP had been using the existing funds to keep us safe.
quote:go frick myself? you look like an idiot. No the Mississippi has not meandered throughout those states. It has stayed in a relatively thin area in all of those states. While it is gone from Lake Charles to Slidell. Thats almost 3/4 of the state. as compared to a few dozen mile width strip down the edge of the states.
so does MS, AR, MO, IA, OH, IL, IN, GFY

Do yourself a favor and go drive around NOLA - Lower Garden, Central City, etc, etc ...
City is caving in every day. Fix one area and 2 more pop up overnight.

quote:well its facts...
Been hearing that excuse for years.
quote:thats what i said.
While it does explain some of the problem,
quote:thats what i said
it does not excuse it
quote:well i did mention a funding problem..... NW LA pulls from the same small funding as the rest of the state.... NE texas does not.
Why are the roads bad in NW Louisiana and not in NE Texas?
quote:idk if you know what silt is...
Florida was once 90% sea floor silt.
quote:have you looked at the size of georgia and carolia marshes those are completely different that the Mississipi delta and surrounding areas. It is one of the most unique places in the world.
Eastern Georgia and coastal Carolina are marsh and alluvial deposits as well.
quote:yes i have..... the everglades does not have the 2 or 3rd largest river in the world fricking with it for millions of years.
ver driven across the Everglades on I-75? It’s built on muck.
quote:see previous answer.
Southeast Texas has the same soil as SW Louisiana and far better roadways (Errrnge, TX excepted).

Maybe not. I’m not an engineer, but I was a member of the National Academy of Sciences National Transportation Research Board for 25 years. I could very well have slept through many of the more important meetings.

Idk there are bad roads everywhere. There are also some very nice roads by me.
New Orleans is complete shite compared to everywhere though.
