I have gotten multiple of these when I lived in Laffayette. Never paid never heard a thing about them.

Why would they care about giving people boots? It's not like they are the ones giving out tickets

So is this an official public/law enforcement vehicle or some private contractor that the crooks in New Orleans approve them doing this?

Yup. Live in lakeview. Been seeing several cars in my area being booted. Went ahead and paid it to prevent further headache.
