I think drugs & alcohol are more often excuses for failing out of school, long term unemployement, etc., than the cause of these problems.

I get that (and HST killed himself because he fricked himself up so bad he was miserable in his own shell - so, there's that) - but I choose to not do this. It is my way of rebelling against what all my peers were doing. I'm just stubborn enough to have stuck with it all these years. I take a lot of pride with sticking with things. Same wife for almost 30 years. Military for almost 30 years. I'm not known as a quitter.
