Seeing it would have broken your heart.

Oh wow. Well I'm glad to hear you're doing good. :)
Thanks. I almost feel normal again. He said my heart is back up to 35% effective. When I first went to him it was down to 20%, which apparantly is not enough to live on.
For reference, a healthy adult's heart should average about 50% effectiveness. And "effectiveness" is the amount of blood in the heart that's pumped out with each beat. So if your heart is 50% effective, half the blood inside it is pumped out with each pump.

Hey. Been getting better every day. I got back to riding this week and had a good check up with my cardiologist. Won't have to go back for a whole three months.
Did have one bit of surreal news from him though. Turns out when he first examined me last November, he gave me about a 10% chance of surviving. He said "I didn't see any good in telling you this then. But now that you're getting better I thought you should know".

Darth, do you have CHF?

Chicken would be smart to have Darth sign a full HIPAA disclosure and release form.
He is probably next on the litigation list.

Don't ask him any questions. Just go watch a full season of Dr. House and save some time.

Actually RebelGator brought it up.
And it's fine, I gotta start laughing about it or it will drive me crazy. Go ahead and tease me about it all you want. I'm good with it. I'll even wear it as a badge of honor. Hell, I should be dead right now. Why not laugh about it?
And while I was at my cardiologist this week I also found out what I thought had caused me to flatline that night was not what I though. Turns out I basically bled to death internally that night. I thought it was due to blood leaking into the membrane around my heart to the point my heart could not pump any longer. Turns out it was just about my whole chest cavity that filled up with blood. My cardiologist told me when they opened me back up that night "my heart was basically empty because there was nothing left to go to it".
Which all that blood in my chest and around my lungs explains my breathing troubles I had until late Feb and the over seven liters of "fluids" they drained from around my lungs.
But I'm much better now.

I was in stage IV CHF last November when I had open heart surgery to replace my mitral valve and do a double by-pass. A week after the surgery, I had the complications I described above that caused the whole "dying" incident and a second (this time emergency) heart surgery.
