Lake View property values has gone up significantly in recent years. I lived in Southport from 14-17, the value of the condo we were renting went from like 450 to 650 in that time. Being in the Blaine Elementary school district was a huge factor.
Lincoln Park is safe for a big city. There was an uptick in crime around DePaul earlier this year but most crime there is crime of opportunity (phone snatching, break-ins) rather than violent. Great area for a single young professional to live in.
