Hmmm.. I wonder if there is a market for topless drivers?
I don't think there's a lot of convertibles that drive for uber

If anyone uses it tonight ask them how many drivers are working. Really curious how they plan to keep up with demand.
When does the "random college kid" pick you up service start in BR? Is that just regular Uber? Or Uber X? I feel that's when they'll finally start stop having unavailable car statuses

That's uber x which is up and running now. I think it's mostly people from other states now until they get more drivers

I think that's it. Bring experience drivers from other cities to get it going and train new local drivers.

Read my previous post, Baton Rouge has UberX. Their next move would be Uber Family, my driver from Seattle tonight told me. The elite Uber is focusing on New Orleans before here. UberX drivers still have to have to a clean driving record and a approved car , a lot better then some of the cabbies here. Everyone needs to spread the word on Uber and take full advantage of the $5 rides. BR is in desperate need of new transportation and we need to support Uber.

In addition to bringing more drivers and more levels like uber black or uber SUV they will start expanding the pickup zone and lowering rates. So the more it's used, the better it gets in terms of availability

Update:
Got picked up by Uber about 20min ago and am home now. It took probably 20 minutes to get an accepted driver at Perkins overpass...missed out on the first 3-4 available cars before I got mine. Very professional driver. Flaming guy but extremely nice. His day job is a personal concierge for rich people. Drove a BMW M class 525i. Nicest "cab" I've ever been in. Once they add more cars to accommodate the demand they will be golden.

compared to a yellow cab(without knowing a drivers personal number) what is the norm to catch a ride?

Who knows...probably 45 min to never
My driver did say that Uber started earlier than anticipated as Lyft plans to start in a week or so. Uber wanted to be the first one.

2 hours - they don't ever come.
Back before I had a lot of drivers numbers and would actually call the service, worst part is eventually you find a ride or just drive, then the next time you call they charge you for "no showing" them on your last request. Sorry I didn't wait at Ivars until 7:30 am for your driver to arrive when I called at midnight

How do you get hired? I have a clean driving record and I'm STD free.
