departments probably have told everyone to become bland if they are on tv.

Very few of the departments are the same as when it started. Most realize they get paid nothing and costs them more in labor. They let the show move on. They pick some real lowbrow places to film. It is all meth, pot, DUI's and everyone has warrants.
