Get you some Diclofenac Gel. Hell of a good anti-inflammatory and good for stiff necks and muscles. It's prescription but your MD will gladly spring for it. And unlike weed, it's legal.

Try my stuff, you got nothing to lose, you can get it in oral form too. Ice that spot too, reduce any swelling and maybe numb it some.
Painkillers just mask the problem, anti inflammatories might help the actual problem somewhat.
