Half these amounts posted in the thread are from professional degrees.
Undergrad...sure get a job. While you can probably have some form of minimum wage job while in medical school, you're goal is to study and pass. Why risk that when anything you make in school would be a drop in the bucket on the debt.
Some fields in medicine do "moonlight" for extra income in residency. But not all fields allow it.
I met a family med resident once that had gone to some out of state cali undergrad, Tulane special masters program, and then tulane med school and was north of 450k for his debt. However, he was signing up to work in some rural location for debt repayment. So good for him.
