If your traveling from Houston to Baton Rouge, NO , or Lafayette , go thru deQuincy , stay on 190 and avoid LC. I’ve used that route even to get to lake Charles , by going south at ragley, didn’t save time, but was not stalled in traffic

Coming from Houston which highway? Cross the state line on I-10 then get on La 109 to La 12 at starks follow that all the way to 190 to 171? Is that the best route coming from HTX to get to the other side of The lake & i-10?
