fixed it for ya.
Got me. For real though I'd put Everlong up against a lot of Nirvana songs. Great song

Grohl sang backup also
And?
Your argument was that he was the drummer for one of the greatest bands of the 90s, so you implied that's how he got his head start on success afterwards.
My point is that if it was so easy, why didn't Novoselic blow up too?
You gotta recognize talent. Singing backup has nothing to do with it.

dave grohl>>>>cobain
I have to say, Grohl is pretty damn amazing.....Cobain was a "cult hero" based on the fact that he pioneered the "grunge" movement. His lyrics usually made no sense. (Then again, neither do Grohl's.....see Everlong for reference)....Cobain was more "stoned" than intelligent I suspect....

My favorite Foo song.

I said it helped. It was pretty evident that grohl was talented. Using the lack of success of a 3rd bandmember isn't a good example though.

what are you looking for here? His music showed a lot of intelligence. Blowing his face off with a shotgun, not so much.
Hemmingway was also stupid.

Kurt is a one in a million years talent
Both are great

my apologies, but i just don't see it. and again, I AM A NIRVANA FAN so don't think i'm just stirring up a bunch of crap.
had kurt not whacked himself, would he be held in the highest regard as he is today?
look at the implosion of the grunge movement. pearl jam will never make better music than they did with their first 3 albums. soundgarden has been done for years. alice in chains was done in because of layne staley's suicide (and he was crazy talented too).
out of that era, i think only grohl, scott weiland, and chris cornell have evolved to stay relevant today. maybe if cobain were still alive, he would be another eddie vedder? just asking a legitimate question to keep things in perspective.

They probably would have died out eventually like most bands, but I think they could have put out at least 2-3 more multiplatinum albums. Did killing himself make him more famous? Probably. But no telling what he could have come up with if he hadn't

Everything that Kurt Cobain had ever known or thought or loved drained slowly down the wall behind him. His mothers face, his first communion, women he had known.
