A bottle of wine. Your kid (and the rest of the class) probably drive her to drink, so it's the least you can do.

My daughter's class received this email:

"It is a (removed school) tradition to show appreciation to our teachers and auxiliary staff with a cash gift twice a year - during the holidays and at the end of the school year. Please note that participation is absolutely voluntary! It is a nice way to make a smaller gift become one large gift. It seems like cash is the preferred way to go since most teachers would appreciate that more and can choose to use it as they please."

I think it was a mother, she emailed the whole class saying they always give cash and there's an envelope at the front desk for it.
