Is the United Way worth a shite? Serious question because I don't know. I assume they are and all this will go to the flood victims. If so I'm going to donate. Are they the best or as good as any others?

Charity Navigator gives them a good rating. I see them doing a lot of good around town. I think it's going to go to good. KATC is our leading news station, I wouldn't expect them to get involved with some bullshite.

I'm pretty sure they said that all the money donated is going to flood relief efforts during the telethon

I have no idea. Will those folks do better than the United Way in the telethon? I just want peace of mind that 100% of the money go straight to the people who need it and not somebody taking a cut. Doesn't matter to me who delivers it..

Has United Way fricked a bunch of people over? Not familiar with them and people seem to be pretty negative towards them in this thread. Just curious bc I know a few good people who have worked with them and they don't seem like they'd be dealing with a shady organization.

Y'all should raffle off a year's supply of NAS energy drinks and AYCE egg rolls from a gas station of one's choosing.

I have a problem with united way because of their super aggressive marketing tactics. Plus their people make a lot of money, and they spend a lot on shite that's "fun". I'm lazy and not looking it up, but they aren't great about 100% of the money making it to those in need.

I am in the same boat as you. I ended up donating to Second Harvest.
