Jeff Allen "Skunk" Baxter is a highly regarded session guitarist and member (at different times) of both Steely Dan AND The Doobie Brothers (he brought Michael McDonald into the latter group).
A curious and technically oriented person, he is known for building some of his own guitars.
He is also a self-taught expert on missile and missile defense systems and was appointed to chair the Civilian Advisory Board for Ballistic Missile Defense (for a House military subcommittee). Since his early involvement he has also been an adviser to NASA and more broadly, a policy adviser in the field.

The lead singer of the Offspring has a PhD in microbiology and flew around the world by himself.
Iron Maiden also has a p.Hd and commercial airline pilot.
The op guy also isn’t just a doctor, but a Harvard educated doctor.

Turns out
Brian May from queen has a PHD in astrophysics, Tom Morello from Rage against the machine has a degree from Harvard.
Dexter Holland (Offspring) has a PHD in molecular biology and Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) n has a PhD in music and is also an airline pilot and a world class fencer. Greg Griffin from bad religion has a PhD from Cornell. Tom Scholz of Boston has a M.Eng from MIT and infected the amplifier they use.
