I don't even know how to respond to this.

It appears that John Mayer ripped up your gf's anus, paid his personal surgeon to stitch it back up, and then ripped it up again because frick you.

I don't know any "new" blues guitarist, but I will say he is better than Chris Thomas King.

Not sure where that ranks him

This is definitely something a grown man would vent to the world.

Ok. I went with alive guitarists.

In no particular order.
Robin trower
Walter trout
Eric Gales
Kenny Wayne shepard
Derek trucks
Joe bonamassa
Jonny lang
Warren Haynes
Dickey betts
Guthrie Govan.

That's not including the greats, who are still alive and touring. All of which Mayer couldn't follow. I get it though. Mayer is a good guitarist, but commercialism made him up to be the next SRV. He's not. He seems like a cool guy, but he doesn't know the blues. He's just a fricking suburban kid who found a Clapton tab book.

I messed around with the Periscope app when it first came out. One night I noticed John Mayer was live on Periscope.

Dude was sitting on a sofa with his guitar. He started reading the chat out loud and responding to people.

Shortly after he started singing whatever people said in chat and playing his guitar along with it. Just ad-libbing it and it sounded great. It was a pretty cool thing to see.

Eric Gales is a friend of mine so I don't say this lightly, Mayer is a better guitar player.

There are probably a 100 bartenders in Austin that are better guitar players than Mayer, some people make it, some don't, and it has little to do with being the best musician. He also wasted a lot of time and money on his tattoo work, from 6 feet way his left arm looks like a green appendage that belongs on a giant lizard in a Japanese Godzilla movie.

I agree with Trucks and Bonamassa. Govan is great, but now we're getting into rather subjective territory (especially considering that he's really a rock guitarist).

Well it's really no surprise that your record company is failing since you clearly don't know good music

Technically in blues does not matter. It's about your audience feeling what you're playing. BB King songs are not hard to play, but no one will will match his intensity and vibrato in his bends. When he played, you felt what he was feeling. Every player is different in that aspect.
