A little late but I'll throw in my $.02. If you already have a family, it's Tulsa. The suburban strip mall in Tulsa is the same as any other suburb in the U.S. I'm sure you'll be able to find a decent restaurant or two for the occasional date night and that's pretty much all you need. Find a decent neighborhood with a nice park for your kid to play and do your thing.

Tulsa is fricking awesome. I was there 2 years for work and would go back in a heartbeat.
Houses in the Brook Towne area near Peoria are good looking, affordable, and very close to great restaurants (like THIS one).
Tulsa has had money for 120 years. There are incredible restaurants, bars, and family shite to do all the time. Look at this damn art museum:

I grew up in Tulsa, and spent 5 years just north in the Owasso/Claremore area, and my parents still live in midtown.
Pockets of the metro area are very nice. As mentioned the Brookside/Maple Ridge/Utica square areas are very nice neighborhoods with good food and some nightlife nearby. BA, Jenks, and Bixby also have some nice areas as well, depending on where you'll be working, or if you don't mind traffic commuting.
There are plenty of parks in the midtown area and several cool museums (philbrook, gilcrease). The zoo is pretty meh, and the aquarium is expensive, but it's something for the kids to do. The downtown area has come a long ways over the past several years. They built the new minor league ballpark downtown and quite a few good restaurants and bars have sprung up nearby.

For an extra $35-40k a year, would be a pretty easy decision for me.

Never thought I'd live the day to see that.

Be careful moving to a place you probably will not like living at for the sake of a few extra 10k. You might think you will stay for a short while and move on but you will blink your eyes and it will be 20 years later and you still are living in freaking Tulsa. Trust me. It is miserable not living where you want to. Don't get stuck.

Bet on yourself. Kill it in Tulsa and see where that takes you. It is far too early in your young career life to short stop a great opportunity and limit your experience and upward mobility. Save that extra money... And perhaps put a few thousand a year to a great vacation for the family you wouldn't be able to take in Dallas. I live in Dallas. I really like it. But the call here is okie.
I wish you would have given me this speech when I was just starting out. Seriously, great advice!
