Issues with Directv and Vizio Tv

About a week ago I started having issues with a TV in my bedroom. Whenever I change the channel the TV screen will go black for a couple of seconds then it will say "Resolution not Supported". From there I am not able to do anything and have to turn off the TV and restart the receiver. I have Directv and a Vizio TV i have tried messing with the resolution on both the TV and the Directv display but to no avail I keep having the same issue and i'm starting to get pissed. Has anyone encountered this issue? If so, how did you resolve?
