Any of you fine fellers ever take a P6 course? Best organization to use? And how hard was it to find a scheduler position after you were certified?

It's pretty much the industry standard... It's never really used properly to its full capabilities in the Petroleum Industry, etc.
And no U will not have a problem finding a job with that certification.

Schedulers are hard to come by and are big demand. Bad thing is anyone can run the software it is knowing the back ground and how things are built to be able to build the schedule.

Tried to get into it out of education. Took the Primavera P6 class and everywhere I applied said they loved my initiative to take the class but I had no field experience so it was pretty much useless. Sucks....had to go back to education

Why didn't you just take a field job for a couple of years to learn the business?

thetequilatigres, I actually emailed you last night. But I am currently a Turnaround Planner so I know sequences and how to build plans. Hopefully that helps when I try to find a job
