It's a balance. You can't let others control your happiness and what you enjoy, but you also shouldn't be an a-hole.

Yes, but you have to be born that way. Hard to change the way you think or decide what will bother you or not. And that sucks.

Don't waste time worrying about what others think...
That being said, we should treat others the way we want to be treated. Sometimes being ourselves might offend others, but it doesn't give us a free pass to be an offensive a-hole.

Most people naturally care less about what others think of them as they age. I care a lot less at 40 than I did at 22.
My 98 year old grandfather doesn't give two shits what anyone thinks about him. My dad is almost there at 68
