I was an IL-62 passenger with third-world airlines outside of North Korea. Had nightmares about that for a while.

I got used to seeing a couple of small green tanks with masks mounted on the first class bulkhead in lieu of any automatic emergency oxygen system.

The aircraft was an attempt to copy the Vickers VC10, but with engines so heavy that Ilyushin added a rear support wheel to keep the nose from flipping up.
