Mary's downfall was in large part due to the unpopularity of Obama and her going along with him on Obamacare. Had McCain won in '08, Mary would likely still be in the Senate IMO.

Sure I'll go in to more detail. Imagine the City as one big convenience store. During Katrina the owner panicked and put all the chocolate bars in one spot. They started going bad during the flood so he had to have them shipped all over the country. When the store opened back up he realized his customers didn't really like the chocolate he was selling. That the store was actually selling more products without the chocolate. But the owner was stubborn. He upgraded the chocolate shelves. Even expanded the eastern part of his store to put the chocolate. He, announced to everyone that his store, Chocolate City, was coming back. Everyone said "why, why?" So then the owner was fired and replaced by a bald idiot.
