I have no problem with it. They should have every right to be recognized as a married couple.

Are you serious? Desegregation occurred due to Brown v. Board of Education. It was decided by the Supreme Court not public opinion.

If you think that anything being decided on in a court is going to pacify a group of people and simply allow changes to happen, YOU ARE DUMB.
If the majority of the people were not in agreement, the physical changes would have NEVER happened.

No, that's why it took the Supreme Court to change it and the National Guard to enforce it.

And yeah I may be dumb. But I'd rather be dumb than willfully ignorant.

Really? Did it take the National Guard going to every single school?

They occurred because the majority of the Country was in favor, or, do you have an alternate view of history?

They occurred b/c the Federal Court system forced them down the throats of an unwilling majority. Unfortunately, the gay marriage deal will go the same route, not b/c the majority is opposed, but b/c politicians are too afraid of a vocal minority to do the right thing.

No, but they went to alot of schools in Arky, Miss, Alabama in the 1960, and the local systems fought it all the way thru the 80s. I even heard about the 60s battles in South Boston this week. Yep, Yankees are racist too.

I'm for it. Anything that pisses off rednecks is usually good for society.

A lot, in three States? So, I would gather that my statement of the majority being Pro was correct?

uh, no. that's why virtually every parish in this state had a desegregation suit filed, so the federal courts would force the local school boards to integrate, b/c otherwise they refused. Some of these suits are still pending today. EBRP busing peaked in the 80s, and didn't get out from under it until after 2000.

Lemme guess, you are under 25? Or just trolling?

I really a get a kick out of these kinds of threads intended to make a point more than question. As if to say that it's so incredulous and backwoods to not tow the line on the approved status quo on gays force fed people that to believe otherwise is just foolishness. This does not make the arguments go away.
