Oh, yeah. We did.

On 10 December 2011, Iran announced that it intended to carry out reverse engineering on the captured RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft.

Honest guess?

A low speed drone with a small RCS possibly could have been filtered out of the radar screen ev n if the ROE allowed the commander to not tolerate their presence.

The radar operator never saw it.
