I don't know what my mom used, but when I was like 10 she sprayed something behind the fridge and abou a minute later they were coming out of every crevice and vent in the house. I scared the shite out of me.

What about bug bombs? I want to clear my garage of everything, including spiders hiding out up high.

Anything made by Bayer is awesome, avoid spectricide products, they are almost all watered down.

Talstar is amazing but DO NOT use it indoors. Spray the outside of your house and you'll have zero bugs.
You can use it indoors. Mix according to guidelines and spot spray it indoors in dark places where bugs frequent.

So I used Bayer Suspend SC. Noticed results the next day. Several dead roaches on the ground and have not seen them crawling around at night like usual. Thanks for the recommendations!

Bengal has my vote hands down. Spray the house every six months. Works like a charm.
On the side, a physician who used to work for me was sensitive to most insecticides. Instead, he put some plaster of paris powder in strategic places. Interestingly, roaches are by nature fairly clean (wouldn't seem like it), and when they run through the plaster of paris powder they would start trying to brush it off. In sticking their front feet in their mouth from time to time while "cleaning" themselves they would get some of the P of P in their digestive system. When they ingested water the stuff mixed and hardened. No more roach.
That said, I'll stick with Bengal.
If you live somewhere that it's not available in stores, you can probably go on line and order it.
