I sometimes drive in the left lane when I am not passing however, I always have my hazard lights on for safety.

Here is the truth, the left is for passing within the speed limit or generally 10 mph above posted limit. I know it makes folks irrational and emotional, but the left lane is not for speeding. The real problem is way too many people are driving way over the speed limit; hence, the obsession with the left lane. If you don't understand, then the posted speed limits are not logical.
