One of the most upstanding men I have ever met died from an overdose. Not sure if accidental or on purpose.
He served his country with honor, and literally broke his back doing so. A few years and surgeries later, he became overly dependent on pain meds that were prescribed to him. One pill turns in to two pills. Not to get higher, but to mask the pain. Two pills turns in to three pills, etc.
