I would imagine anyone would have a culture shock from waking up from a quarter-century coma no matter what year it was.

If you were to pick a random 20 year period I'm saying 1987 to 2007. Mix tapes were the best way to listen to "your" music, ATMs were fairly new, direct deposit was rare, no digital cameras, no internet (Prodigy/AOL were a few years away), no laptops, PC's were a luxury, DirecTv was 7 years away, average TV size was 25", no cell phones, SUVs,or trucks with backseats to speak of and LSU's head football coach made $88K a year and a 5 minute weekday long distance call from Plaquemine to BR was $5.
By 2007, the first iphone was released, Facebook was on fire, and HD 42" screens were in the avg middle class home.
