I'm trying to join up with a group heading to LC to help with storm cleanup.

Anyone know of any church or other groups organizing to head out tomorrow or Saturday? I've got a chainsaw a will to work and probably can get my hands on bottled water. Let me know if you know of someone I can contact. Thanks

Samaritan’s Purse
PO Box 3000
Boone, NC 28607

Team Rubicon
Both these organizations will probably be involved
You can also try looking at FB pages of churches in the area for a direct contact

Google LA VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster). Most states have a VOAD that strives to coordinate disaster response of volunteers. They can probably put you in contact w/ groups that will work the recovery. They will probably start having coordination calls today or tomorrow and if you can get the # you can listen in to find out what is going on.
You could also contact Crisis Cleanup; they coordinate mucking out of damaged homes and tree removals. They may give you the name of an organization you can join.
St. Vincent de Paul Disaster Services is planning to set up a recovery operation but they mostly give food and gift cards; not cleanup.
