Anyone else seeing this lately a lot?

Guy is going out with a girl who is either out of his league or at the top of his range. Guy is insecure about his long term prospects with said girl. Guy proposes way earlier than he should in an attempt to "trap" the girl into staying with him. Proposal is super elaborate and super public (asking at a ball game etc.) so the girl feels obligated into saying yes.

I have a coworker who is apparently going to start a long distance marriage. Wtf is that? Wouldn't you try date a while longer and only get married when you have everything figured out 100%?

This happens very often in the military. I've seen guys get married after dating a girl for 3-4 months.

I'm just gonna say in now.

I look forward to waking up and reading goldennuggets take.

My guess: he has money and she is only engaged for the transactional aspect
