Brevard is our home away from home. We go camping/kayaking there usually 5-6 times a year. We have minimal cell service there and I love it

Absolutely. That region is gorgeous. Myself, I have dreams of moving to some small town in Tennessee. Alas, I'm too old.

Shhhhhhhhhh

It’s the one area there that rarely gets mentioned in these discussions and I’d like to keep it that way for awhile.

Yep... I was looking at it last week from the train tracks. The water was high and in my rookie estimation, it seemed like a raft or yak could shoot right through no problem. Is that thing not do-able under any conditions?

As I said, people have run it. But there's a couple of nasty holes that if you don't hit the line just right, you're pretty much dead.

Hence the Class VI. Nope. Nope nope nope.

Headed to a cabin on Lake Lure, NC in two weeks. Planning to check out a lot of the area.

Currently Breckenridge is my planed summer escape in retirement, but still looking at other areas

Asheville.

Excellent place to visit. Not a chance in hell i'd want to live there. Especially with the political pandering lately.
