I went to Meril in the warehouse district for a business dinner a week ago. It was a great atmosphere. However, my guard was up. I made sure to park in a pay garage one block away, and quickly get to and from the restaurant. It's sad.
I miss going downtown a few times a month back in the day.

I'm downtown Nola almost every day with no troubles. Lots of OT baws like to act tough, but seeing how scared they are to walk around in a large metro area tells me they ain't.

Maybe the homeless branch where the OP was have shifted to 4/10s as a work schedule now that the temperatures are getting up there.
