Had this happen a few times. Once with tires on a new phone. I told a buddy "I need to buy some new tires" in-person and suddenly there were a ton of tire ads on the rant.

I know I hadn't googled them and this was a new phone then.

Also told a friend (in FB private message) she should get a laser pointer for her cat and lo and behold ads for laser pointers started popping up.

Do they have the technology to spy on us? Yes.
Do they stand to make money from spying on us? Yes.

Follow the money. One day we'll look back and see that they've been collecting a lot more than anyone will admit.

They probably are. People should really quit posting all their info on that site.

This isn't some conspiracy, this is real. Remove facebooks access to your microphone in settings and this won't happen.

But yea, this 100% happens and it isn't a coincidence or paranoia. They aren't hiding it
