I have read maybe 20 responses so far and have one thought.
Under no circumstances should you allow the dog to attempt a climb of Mt. Everest.
Other than that, enjoy your pooch, make him a part of the family and love him lots. Oh and post photos. By the way, I am jealous.

First and foremost, get pet insurance.
Second, I hope you’re not poor.
Third, best dogs. Love my English & Frenchie.

We have an olde English bulldog and I was weary when we got it as the kids wanted one. We studied the English bulldog and old English. The olde English had less health issues so we went with it. I must say she is one of the coolest dogs I have ever owned. She was super stubborn but now listens at the drop of a dime. She is about to be three. All and all I would get one again in a heartbeat. The kids love her. She jumps on the trampoline with them, pulls them around the house on blankets and is just an all around awesome dog. Dogs are like cars, get two exact cars and one will be the best ever and one will be a pos. Roll of the dice. Enjoy your dog!
