18.

Left for LSU at 18. Of course, I spent holidays and some weekends at my parents home. Started working a job while attending LSU sophomore year and did so for the rest of college, so that cut down on trips home.

Post LSU got a job in BTR and lived off Sherwood Forest. Ultimately moved to New Orleans, divorced my cheating whore ex-wife and wound up back at my parents home by the time I was 30 for a brief two month period while I sold the house I had with the ex-wife (aka “the whore”) and transitioned back to an apartment. That was 24 years ago. I digress.

Questioning the endless living with the parents with no plan, goals or aim is the likely intent of this thread. We are chasing the guy in his 30’s living in his parents basement.

There is no problem living with parents if there is an escape plan to save money, buy a home, move to another town, etc. we are cycling through some of these same issues right now as my oldest will start college in the fall. I have three kids now and I don’t want any of them living here endlessly. Not good for them or me - they have to find their own way.

I’m not a bird. I didn’t grow up in a nest.
