How much to tip on auto detailing services?

Is this the kind that comes to you or is it at a car wash? Either $10 or $50.

Depends on if you think he went above and beyond what you paid him to do.

This. Do you think the $250+ you are paying for a detail is for the supplies they are using that they get in bulk @ wholesale?

Break down the cost per hour after it's done and you'll see they've been tipped plenty.

I think it also depends if the guy is working for someone else or its his own enterprise.

if the guy is employed by someone else and does an outstanding job, I dont see an issue with tip, if there is significant time involved.
